I awoke in the early morning, rose from the bed and stepped into the light of a new day of this
magnificent existance. I quietly showered and dressed, excited about what the new day would bring. I walked by a mirror and
caught myself in it and was overcome......Overcome with a wave of happiness, triumph and saddness for the boy who didn't know
what that was like. I looked deep into the mirror, gaizing into my wide eyes, pearing into the depths of my soul. I began
to walk away and became transfixed on my face and the light which illuminates from it. I take in the full view of my body
and feel my spirit and see the light inside burning through, like an eruption from a vlocano, unable to stop smiling. I look
and think how amazing I look inside and out; a triumph of the physical, and more imprtantly of the spirit. In that moment
I knew I'd won the most precious race...The biggest victory of all....That of the battle I'd fought so long inside me. I love
myself and see that nothing else in the universe matters as much as that!
There's no way I can go back now and know I won't. Each new day will be another miracle lived,
inside.....Another race won another achievement made. I raise my arms in the mirror and let out what has become not only my
battle cry but another of my many life anthems...."I LOVE IT!!!" "RUN ON FOREVER HONEY!" That is exactly what I shall do with
each precious moment of all the days of my life and I'll never stop. I may encounter rocks or obstacles on the path but shall
continue no matter how bad things get for I shall always remember this moment and know that forever, "I'M FREE!!!"
